Adding Dymo LableWriter 400 Turbo or 450 Turbo as a Local Printer on Citrix XenApp 6.5

This is my experience with setting up a Dymo LabelWriter 400 Turbo and 450 Turbo on XenApp 6.5.  I scoured the Internet looking for a solution to get a customers locally installed (non-IP) Dymo LabelWriters 400 Turbo and 450 Turbo running on Citrix but never found the details. Here is how I was able to get it running:

1xXenServer 5.6 SP2 (below are the VM's running on this server).
1xNetscaler VPX (for load balancing later).
1xWI server running SQL 2008 Enterprise (for Citrix configuration database and possibly for other applications use).
2xXA 6.5 servers running on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.

Printers and Drivers:

Dymo LabelWriter 400 Turbo and 450 Turbo
Dymo LabelWriter 400 & 450 Turbo Driver installer (8.x & above) and download the x64 version.

Steps I Took:

1. Add the Print and Document Services role in Server Manager on the XA 6.5 servers . This might not be necessary.

2. Install Dymo drivers on all the XA 6.5 servers.

3. Go to the Citrix AppCenter > Policies > User tab and select New to create the policy.

4. Name the policy and give whatever description. Below is the one I setup "CEN-Dymo 400 Turbo WK01".

5. Select the Settings tab > Printing > Client Printers > Printer driver mapping and compatibility > Add.

6. Select the Add… button. Here you can see the summary of the one I created.

7. When entering the Driver name make sure it matches the server driver name and select Replace with and click on Find Driver… button.

8. Select Use the local computer and select the correct DYMO LabelWriter Windows x64 driver. Make sure all your Citrix servers have the right Dymo driver showing. The driver name you see here is what you want to use mentioned in Step 7. Below I selected the "DYMO LabelWriter 400 Turbo" under Driver Name and used the same name in Driver Name described in Step 7 and click OK in the Find printer driver box.

9. Then click on OK in the Add driver mapping box and OK in the Edit Settings box and OK in the Edit Policy box to update/finish creating the policy.

10. At each client machine that has the Dymo LabelWriter installed as a local client printer; you will need to open a Citrix published application that uses the Dymo LabelWriter and print your labels.

Let me know if this works for you. Also I appreciate any feedback.
